Hotel Louis is located in the Flatiron Building in New York city and was reimagined as a hotel that draws people from the street into the building and interact hotel guests and passerbys alike. The project began with research into hotels and pre-fabrication before diving deeper into storage methods and user experience. The hotel features a bar, cigar lounge, liquor store and restaurant on the mezzanine level. The lobby of Hotel Louis contains gold, green upholstery and dark stone countertops. In multiple locations across the first floor are a variety of different liquor storage systems including alcohol vending machines in the liquor store and main passage through the building. On the floor are gold strips that lead you through the lobby floor to aid in wayfinding.
