Henson Valley aims to protect and re-utilise four buildings on the campus of The University of Tennessee, Knoxville. These buildings are planned to soon be demolished to make way for a new College of Business building on the campus. This area of campus was previously known as west campus and had an atmosphere similar to that of the hill and was a main axis points for students. This experiential based history led the design team to conversations of bringing the feeling of community to other parts of the university campus emphasizing site preservation, engaging existing structure and walkways cohesively and reutilizing land resources. Henson Valley provides both graduate and undergraduate housing, a west campus dining hall, classrooms, convenience store and event space on the rooftop.
